About Us
Our volunteers are on the road from Monday through Friday delivering prepared meals at mid-day to over 75 clients. Clients receive two meals – one hot and one cold – prepared by Dutch Mill Catering and following nutrition requirements as set by the Older Americans Act (OAA) and approved by the Montgomery County Senior Nutrition Program. Our volunteers serve as an extra set of eyes — looking out for our neighbors who need a little support to stay in their homes. We welcome volunteers, donations and questions about our service to our community.
Gaithersburg MOW is a totally independent entity with a 15-member Board of Directors. We have no paid employees. Over 95 volunteers deliver meals, do all administrative work, keep the books, maintain equipment, train drivers, and oversee the many tasks necessary to provide the service. Meals are professionally prepared by Dutch Mill Catering, the contractor for Montgomery County's Senior Nutrition Programs.
No one is denied service due to an inability to pay. Donations from the community support our program.
Our Impact in 2024
Our volunteers delivered over 18,730 meals in 2024 to clients in the Gaithersburg area, which includes Montgomery Village and Washington Grove, Maryland. Often, we are the only people our clients see on a regular basis.

Gaithersburg MOW serves clients in partnership with Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services, Aging & Disability Services, the Senior Nutrition Program, and the City of Gaithersburg. We operate out of the Benjamin Gaither Center and the meals are prepared by Dutch Mill Catering.
